the Short Do

How about this short do? Taylor came home from the hair dresser last night as Steve took her and will never happen again, and this is the results? yes or no? I didn't care for it at first but its growing on me I guess.

Call her Tyler for a while, no just joking! Joke from her cousin Katie, she's still my cutest little pumpkin!

Ugly Toes

Just a friendly reminder, it's that time of the year again.

Please raise your BIG TOE and repeat after me:

And for God's Sake if your second toe is longer than your big toe you should have some cosmetic foot surgery before you EVEN THINK OF WEARING ANY TYPE OF OPEN TOE SHOE....

As a member, I pledge to follow The Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:

1. I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hangover and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

2. I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

3. I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

4. I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

5. I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend/co-worker/mother/sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

6. If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it -- no matter how much it hurts.

7. I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my goodfriend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

8. I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low,low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat, and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

9. I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

10. I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/co-worker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someonehas to tell her that her toes look like they've been dragged behind her car on the way to work and no sandal in the world is going to make her feet look good.

11. I will promise if I wear flip flops, that I will ensure they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

12. I will promise to go to my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $20 and worth EVERY penny). I say spend another $20.00 and get an even better one.

And finally . . .

13. I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear . . . nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals .. . .

For all our sakes, please don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to all your girlfriends! :)

An Old Friend

An Old friend ...........I found an old friend of mine after 17 years . You'll never guess where, so I'll tell you --- MYSPACE.COM

Very strange place but you can put your HIGH SCHOOL and graduation year in, and they will list everyone there, so I did a search under the year 1989 graduation and she came up. Although it took me 2 days to believe it, cause her photo is totally not the Dawn I remember from school. So, after my mom and I looked and stared at it, compared it to our year book grad photo, I decided to email her. In 1 day I heard back and IT WAS HER!!!!! WOW!

That's so great, now we are exchanging emails and talking about our past 17 years.....what a long time to catchup, that's oK, cause we met in 1st grade and we were best buddy's all through grade school and even into high school, we kind of never stopped talking but around 10th grade we kind of parted a little bit, and weren't such great friends the last 2 years in school but we still talked and all. Haven't seen her or heard from her since June 7th, 1989 and now we're email chatters. So cooL.

Brings back memories again!

She is doing so well and lives right here in the same city as I did, we never left York. So, maybe someday we can meet and chat face to face.........what are good friends for, even after 17 years of being apart.
I'm so glad I found her!

Hanging out at the PooL

We hung at the pooL yesterday at my parents house with friends. Taylor and Bridget (below) were constantly getting water in their ears, every photo I took had one of them trying to get water out of their ears. It was soooooo HOT! It finally got humid here and we spent about 4 hours tanning and swimming. They had a blast!

Yes! Here is me, Taylor took this photo of me in my swimsuit in the pool. Probably the only photo you'll see of me on the internet, geez - cannot believe I'm putting this picture up. But here it is - me sunbathing and chillin' in the pooL!

1st Day of Summer

Its the 1st day of Summer and its hot. No humidity yet, but will be arriving by tomorrow in the low 90's and very HOT tomorrow, it sure feels like summer now!

I think we'll be spending the day inside staying cooL today as Taylor has a softball game tonight and heading to the pooL tomorrow.

Some photos to share below were from the other week when my cousins kids were chilling int he pool, although quite chilly water that day, they are kids and still got in! SUMMER IS HERE!

700 series, finally!

Steve finally bowled his 1st 700 series tonight at his league game. Yeah! for him. He was so excited and will see his name up flashing throughout the week on the flashing lights board at the bowling alley.

He was all excited when he came home tonight and I'm glad, something he needed to boost him up!

He almost bowled a 300 game tonight twice too. He had 9 strikes in a row, ending the 10th frame with a 9 and a spare........that's really disappointing but still a GREAT GAME! CONGRATS!

Balloon Fest 2006

BaLLoon Fest 2006
Today we went to John Rudy Park for Balloon Fest '06. This was the 1st year we went. Our band played there too which drew us there to begin with.
I included some photos below of the band playing in the 90 degree/humid weather. I felt so bad for them, it was so hot. Our neighbor told us at 5:00 it was 97 degrees. wow! I'm still trying to cooL down and I've been home now for 2 hours.

FDP (above) playing their tunes as a hot air ballon in the background starts to blow up.
Although that hot air balloon in the background never made it in the air, it fell over and they finally started to fold it up at 8:00 when we left.

Happy Fathers' Day Dad

EEG Day

Well, its only 7:22 a.m. and we've already been up and about for 3 hours. What a long morning it'll be. Taylor has her EEG Test today at the hospital for her seizures, and we (or she) is only allowed 1/2 her normal sleep time last night. After staying up til 12:30 (midnight time) and getting 4 1/2 hours sleep, we're dragging........She's already been on the computer for an hour this morning, watched TV and doing chores now. Once we return this morning, should only take us 2 hours at the most, we'll be heading to bed for naps. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.................

I'm ready for bed now.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

That TripLe PLaY!

Yeah! we beat the Hellam Sparks, that's all that mattered last night at the softball game. We beat them 6-8, very close game. This is our or should I say "my" rival team.......we cannot allow the Hellam Sparks to beat the EYARC WildCats. Cannot happen. Although it almost did last night. oops!

Taylor had a triple out.......yes! a triple out, very rare in softball or anywhere. She caught a fly ball playing 1st base, then ran to 1st base and got the runner out, afterwards throwing the ball to the pitcher or to the 3rd baseman, not sure on that one because it was so dramatic and exciting, and they got the 3rd baseman out that ran home.............yeah girls! Either way, it was 3 outs in 1 play.........yipee skippy! You go girls! What a great game!

Sam Lewis State Park

We all got together yesterday, Sunday to visit with family and friends. My cousins are up to visit from Florida and South Carolina for the week. No better place to meet than Sam Lewis State Park where the kids can run free and adults can sit and chat. We had a great turnout. More than expected showed up to eat and visit.

Here are some pictures of the kids on the see-saw. They had a great time on the rocks (or as they called 'em the "mountains.") and on the playground area.

It was a slightly windy day but we had a great time and all went well...........we are so glad to see our famiLy as some of them we haven't seen since 2001 and the kids below, well.........3 out of 4 I haven't ever met, what cutie pies!

Shelby, Annabelle and Austin play on the see saw here to the left.

Dougray is on the other side laughing on as the other 3 keep him from touching the ground.

The New Oxford Monsters!

Click here to view our website for the York County Junior Girls Softball League.

I call this team the New Oxford Monsters that we played last night, wish I had photos of them, but only 2 photos of Bridget (pitching) and Taylor (fielding) came out. I think those girls were growing too fast or too old for this team level 12 & under??? We all wondered. They were very tall and larger than our girls. But we lost, although the girls played quite well despite 2 of our pitchers getting knocked down at home plate cause the other team wouldn't slide..........what an interesting ball game. All in all the girls did well, we'll be prepared next time! Go WILDCATS!

Our game records stand as 1 win & 3 losses.

We survived!

Well, we survived the 1st day off school, was a little tough morning starting out but we made it. And how many more to go? Taylor asked me yesterday "Is everyday going to be like this throughout the summer?" and I answered "yep, get use to it." I guess she wants to be entertained and do things everyday but that's not possible. I have too much to do at home like eBay orders which I'm still so much behind on.

So, we filled out the playground play park program application yesterday and its going in the mail. I wasn't going to sign her up since she's older now but I asked her and her eyes lit up like "yes, yes." It s a park program only a few blocks away that the YMCA sponsers for 2 months in the summer from 9am-12pm every morning Monday thru Thursday. We'll try it out. I'm just afraid she's too old for it, but we'll see. Ya' never know until you try.

The bad part is the neighborhood kids are not home, parents work therefore they are too young to stay home by themself so they are off somewhere at a sitters and Taylor is home with no one to play with. We'll make it through, once the summer gets hot we'll be swimming and probably doing some activities here and there throughout the week.

6-6-06

Today is 6-6-6. What a strange day. Did you ever think about the day 6-6-06? Will it be a good or bad day? Is this just an omen or does it really mean something?

My social security # has the 666 in it and I'm still here living a normal life, bad luck? Well, not the best but I'm getting by.

What does it really mean? anything at all? the devil/satan/end of the world? Do you believe or not? Something to think about.

We will all know after today if we're all still here..........6-6-6 I don't think I'd want to be born on this day knowing I'd have to say my birthdate as 666 when someone asks. That's something to be grateful about. I don't believe in this terrible # but some do.

2 more days of SchooL !!!

Did I hear 2 more days of schooL? Yikes! The kids have only 2 more days of school or should I say 1 1/2 days because tomorrow they have early dismissal, which I never understood.....why not just have off? Guess they have to get that 180th day of school in.

I'm not ready to be off this summer with Taylor home saying "I'm bored", "What is there to do?", "Can I go here?", or "Can we go swimming today?"

But I think it'll be interesting.......my 1st summer off in years. Taylor has 2 weeks of fun activities /day camp we signed her up for, that's a little time to be occupied. And we are planning our vacation to Kings dominion amusement park for mid-July.

This year went so fast, and just to think she starts MIDDLE SCHOOL NEXT YEAR! YIKES again.

Our Yearly Yard SaLe

Our Yearly Community Yard SaLe was on Saturday (Yesterday), we spent all day watching our customers simply go crazy on things we no longer needed or junk.

The day started out very gloomy with rain. We put out some furniture, stuff that really didn't matter if it got wet. And waited on the other stuff until the rain tapered off.

We sat and sat and waited and waited until about 9:30 or so and finally the rain broke free and we were able to get it all out.

Watching people walk by with umbrellas, only the dedicated yard salers I guess. A few of them looking at us saying "Oh, a little rain won't hurt us." Nutty people out there.

Each year it rains on us somehow. We have lived here for 6 years or so and only 1 good year for the yard sale so far. Every other year it rains or is ugly weather. What bad luck. We sold alot of furniture and junk and we were happy in the end. Now I just have 6 bags of clothes to take to the salvation army dropoff today........I will not save clothes no more, its GOTTA GO!

Taylors Track & FieLd DaY

Taylors Track & FieLd Meet
Tuesday May 30th
Taylor had their track and field meet on Tuesday and of course it was so stinkin' HOT! those poor kids were just drowning in sweat and looked miserable. If it wasn't for water bottles and squirt bottles, what would they have done? We sat for almost 2 hours and got sunburnt. It was worth it, although having to come home and jump in the shower to cooL down. I think it was like 94 degrees in the shade.

Taylor is finishing her 200m Dash run (above) and did very well. I'm proud of her, it was a run 1/2 the track size. I know I couldn't have done it.

Just Looking at the kids (above) you can tell it was a miserable HOT DAY!

The girls (above) just finished their 50m dash and waiting for results. All the elementary 4th & 5th graders met at the high school track this day to compete against each other. Their are 3 elementary schools in our district and each school wore different colors (red, gold, blue) as our kids had their Kreutz Creek famous Blue shirts on. They all did a great job considering the muggy warm weather!
