Goodbye Katie

Goodbye Katie! Boy will she be missed. I am sitting here right now watching the FAREWELL SHOW that everyone I'm sure has to have a little tear in their eye as everyone says goodbye.

I know I will miss her bright little smile every morning as I watch the TODAY SHOW each morning to wake up while Taylor gets ready for school, as I eat breakfast, as I check my morning email and just simply become ready for TODAY.

I just cannot believe she's leaving the show, it'll seem strange without her but as Bryant left her side years back and Matt took his place, someone new will entertain us all in the morning and give us another bright smile like Katie.

Steve said something strange the other day that he always wanted to go to New York just to see the sights and Ground Zero and all, but he said one day when we heard Katie was leaving, "Welp, guess we will never make it to New York to see Katie now." And that's so true. Another thing I'd love to do someday is go see the TODAY show and wave to everyone on TV. Although that may never happen, its always nice to dream. Just something I'd like to do someday before I get too old to make that NY trip.

Well, Katie - although I'm just a little nobody living a little bitty life - GOOD BYE AND GOOD LUCK! I know we will miss your laughs here in our home each morning. I hope everyone had the chance to see her farewell show and see her laughs! I know we did.

I've Earned my Red Star

I've earned my RED STAR on eBay and here is my certificate to show, yes! over 1,000 positive feedbacks +. Now you have to reach your goal of 5,000 to become the next colored star. That'll be a while until that happens.
That feels great!

Memorial Day

Have a fun Memorial Day today. Today is a day off for everyone in the family here, I don't think we plan to do anything, maybe grill a hot dog or hamburger today, tradition for this holiday.

Woke up this morning and it was hot and muggy. Looks like a day to be inside or outside to enjoy the warm weather. Too bad we cannot go swimming, a little too cold just yet.

Anyways, have a nice safe holiday and enjoy the summerlike weather!

Adventure Sports in Hershey, PA

Adventure Sports in Hershey, PA
Today we went to Adventure Sports in Hershey for a day of fun. Steve wanted to get out of the house this weekend and do something just the 3 of us. So, we ventured to Hershey PA and had a few hours of fun on the Go Karts, Bumper Boats, Batting Cages and Miniature Golf. We topped the afternoon off with an ICEE on the way home. It was in the high 80's today and very muggy out, what a hot day!

Steve & Taylor (above) are battling it out on the Go-Karts. Taylor's 1st time and she was very slow at first but picked up the speed about 1/2 way through the course time. I think they had a blast on these.

Taylor loved the bumper boats the most. She got a little wet, not like the poor kid she was soaking while riding these bumper boats. With it being a hot day, I felt like jumping in myself.

My precious little angel above resting while waiting on the miniature golf course. It was a long wait , very busy day playing golf.

Steve beat Taylor playing golf, but I saw alot of par 6's on the scorecard for both Steve and Taylor, oops!

And the batting cages, her first time in them and she did pretty good. We made a mistake not knowing how fast they were thrown by putting her in the cage called "fast Pitch Softball" first, after the 1st ball came zooming in, she yelled "mommy, its too fast." And it was fast, more towards the college fast pitch throwing Level. So, after her 16 balls came in and missed all 16 of them, we put in the "slow pitch softball" cage and she did pretty good only missing maybe a few.............sorry! But it was very funny how fast they came flying in the 1st time.

What a fun day we had on this Memorial Day Weekend!

3 to Go!

I am almost there......on eBay I have only 3 more feedbacks to go (hopefully positive) to reach my 1000 mark star. wow! I'll be so happy when I hit 1000, as I stand right now at 997. What an accomplishment to see my purple star turn another color, and I wonder what color that'll be?

Taylor's 1st Softball Game

Taylors 1st Softball Game 2006.

Taylor posing in those wild HOT PINK SOCKS before heading to the fields.

TayLor's 1st Softball Game 2006. Whoa! check out them socks. Hot pink! What a change from the normal red/white/blue the past 3 years. Yikes! Guess they should have stuck with the team nickname PINK SOX that the girls wanted, but ended up being called the WILDCATS.

Bridget and Taylor sharing those wonderful SUNFLOWER SEEDS, the famous snack for the game.......they played great tonight for their 1st game. We lost 17-10 to the NEYSA team.

Taylor made the 1st 3 outs in the 1st inning playing 1st base! You GO GIRL!!!! She had a strikeout and a hit to 1st base........even with her boo-boo accident on her 2nd hit, she did GREAT! GOOD GOING Wildcats!

I also just purchased a new Kodak Digital Camera and 1st time using it tonight, not too bad. We already had a digital camera but Steve and I spend alot of time where we both want to use the camera and we cannot. So, I purchased a new one on eBay and wow! looks great.

I guess I better get busy, today is a short entry. I have lots to do the next 3 days!

Horseshoe Tournament

Our 2nd Annual Backyard Horseshoe Tournament was yesterday. What a long day! But what a great time we all had. We had plans for 16 teams to show up but of course like last year, we ended up with only 8 teams participating......We started at 1:30 and the final team won about 6:00 p.m. Here are some Photos we took throughout the day, we took many many more but of course cannot post them all.

Brian and Elton throwing as the teams started at 1:30.

The winners! Ed and Warren, cashed in at $192.00 prize winning for 1st prize with only 1 loss all day! Congrats!

Lori, Tara, and Brad acting crazy as the night progressed, what fun we had!

Goat throwing his pitch while Carl looks on.............Goat's team came in 2nd place this day.

the Go-Go GirLs

The Go-Go Girls........remember them? I just saw them on the Today Show singing their favorite tunes from the 70-80's.

I'm writing 2 entries today simply because after seeing the Go-Go Girls on the Today Show this morning it brought back memories. Yes, here we go again Memories..........

We simply loved the Go-Go Girls when we were in girl scouts in about 5th & 6th grade Juniors. I can remember back to girl scout camp, making preparations to entertain the troop one night while camping with the music "We got the Beat" & "Vacation" by the Go-Go Girls. We of course were lip syncing but nervous? yes!! We almost didn't do it.

There always 5 of us, the perfect group size for the G0-Go Girls: Kendra, Barb, Shanda, Christa and myself. We were the go go's...laughing now on that but good memories. Wearing our short shorts and leg warmers, trying to be all cooL like the girls in this band. Boy, those were good times and I miss them so much!

Watching and hearing these songs this morning brought tears to my eyes thinking about this group of 5 girls that I grew up with and were inseperable throughout grade school and girl scouts..........missing Christa the most since she is no longer with us and died about 9 years ago. I will never forget our girl scout memories and I'm hoping Taylor has scout memories like I did.

Kendra I think was the most nervous to perform in front of the troop and kept wanting to back out.........we finally did it and wasn't too bad for amateurs but I just laugh now thinking about how cooL we thought we were.

The Go-Go Girls........what fun!

Girl Scout Award Ceremony

This was Taylor's night for her Award Ceremony with her Junior Troop # 26. The girls did wonderful with badges, patches and pin earnings.
Taylors earned many things since last summer until end of this year scout year.
I Listed Taylors accomplishments below. Congrats! to Taylor for her 5th year awards in girl scouts.
Taylors leader was very proud of her for earning 2 sign patches this year which are not easy to earn in Junior scouts. Amongst the girls attending (as some were absent) she was the only one presented with 2 sign patches this night. Good job girL!
Now, who gets to sew this on the sash????? We'll discuss that over the summer. Oh no! she has bridging on Monday, so it might be nice to have them on there by Monday, yikes!

Taylor earned Badges:
First Aid, Highway to Health, Pennsylvania Pioneers, Safety First, Sky Search & Swimming.
Patches earned:
Diamond Troop Award -5th year, Foxfire House, Girl Scout's Against Smoking, Girl Scout Sunday, I love Junior GS, Restaurant Nite, & York County

The Gazebo Canopy

Here is our day time view, took this photo this morning.

The Gazebo Canopy was put up today. After wanting one of these canopy's for many years we finally got one for our backyard. This is the night time view with our lights --- tomorrow I will post a better daytime view to see it much better. We hope to entertain and have tons of fun this summer with this canopy gazebo, it looks very nice! The best part is Steve & I put it up in 4 hours without no fighting or yelling. What an accomplishment, see dad- we can do it!

Memories

Memories of being a kid........my daughter came home from school today and said the neighbor girl Heather and her aren't getting along real well. She went on about not agreeing with things said and she thinks their friendship won't last. I just had to chuckle after telling her next week they'll be best friends again and it'll be put behind them. As she goes up the steps she is boo-hooing to Smokey our cat that her day was harsh and terrible.......I just had to chuckle.

I remember being in 5th grade, best friends with my buddy Barb......boy! we were unseparable and did everything together, and I mean everything. We had to call each other on the phone in the morning to see what hair style we had that day or what we were wearing. Gee! it just brings back memories. Although Taylor doesn't have a real best friend, someday I hope she does just like Barb and I.

I run into Barb once in a great while and we just laugh thinking back on memories of those 4th, 5th and 6th grade years in school. My best friend in the world and It just seems like yesterday.

Busy Busy

Busy busy! its so busy on my eBay store the past 2-3 weeks I'm trying to catchup. I told Steve tonight before he headed to the bowling alley that I was going to be caught up on my ebay orders when he got home tonight for sure. That was my goal.

Not!

It didn't work that way, I did accomplish a lot today by shipping almost 20 packages but I looked at my invoices I have printed up, and I still have more than 20 to go, plus ones I haven't printed yet from this past week, yikes!

Guess I'm going to be busy busy the rest of this week, thank goodness the weather is nasty and rainy this week, keeps me inside to catchup!

Computers! ahhhhhhhhhh

Computers just drive me crazy sometimes, I spent 3 hours today trying to install new ink cartridges to my printer and it wouldn't work. After online chats with HP themself, I tried to reinstall my printer and after doing that, broke my USB Port drive.......thinking oh great1 We pulled the hard drive tower out and found 4 more USB Ports on the back of my tower, yeah! thank goodness --- another expense I cannot afford at this time. I finally got my printer up and running after 3-4 hours of torture and frustration. Computers are nice but somedays I could throw it out the door!

They Grow Up so Fast

They grow up so fast. Yes, Taylor had her 1st boy/girl dance on Friday night this weekend and put it this way, they had a blast! Our schools in our district call themselves the GOLDEN KNIGHTS, so they called this night "Fun Knight." They hold it every year near the end of the school year for the 5th, 6th and 7th graders to welcome the 5th graders into a new school --MIDDLE SCHOOL. yes! I cannot believe my little Taylor is going to Middle School next year and will be working her way to the big hill. She's been down here in our small town school for 5 years now and as they always say - next year on the BIG HILL. Yikes!

Fun Knight turned out to be not just a dance, but with other fun activities such as sports, getting to know all the kids from the other 3 schools all joining together next year as 6th graders. What a step! Her and my best friends daughter Bridget are the same age and will graduate together which is just too funny, we never thought that would happen cause they are 10 months apart but their birthdays fell just in time to start school the same year. They simply loved it, they don't go to the same elementary school together but they play softball together, and hang out through the summer when we get a chance to get together during our busy schedules.

Taylor said they played ping pong alot that night and didn't mention the dreaded word too much - BOYS! So, we're still good to go on that subject. I remember in 5th grade I had a crush on a kid named Jack Snyder. And by 6th grade a steady boyfriend that I simply adored. Yikes again! that's just around the corner for her.......I'm not ready for that yet. And won't pursue that subject just yet.

All in all the girls had fun, which was the best part --- and its only a part of life, GROWING UP!

a True Friend

A true Friend. I haven't seen one of my bestest friends from work since I left in February this year, Shana. I saw her yesterday for the 1st time in 3 months and it just broke my heart knowing how much I miss everyone at my old workplace. You know who your true friends are when you keep in touch after leaving for 3 months and Shana is a great friend. We keep in touch via emaiL all the time but just don't get out to see one another like I wish we could. Between kids and running them around all days of the week, there is just never time to get together. But it was truly good to see her yesterday and hopefully we can do that more often. Thanks and miss your conversations at work dearly.

Harry Potter?

Harry Potter? My daughter just loves it. A funny question she asked me this morning that I had to share --- "Mommy, if I could be in a Harry Potter movie, would you have to pay for me to be in it?" How cute --- she is such a dreamer. As I told it that would never happen (although dreams may come true) I wonder where she got that idea? Kids say the darnest things!
