Things that Make me Happy

Okay, I thought I'd start the week off by sharing some things that make me happy, of course, my daughter and family are the first things but listing a picture of them all would be hard to do since I don't have pics of them all. FAMILY COMES FIRST --the rest come in no particular order:

I'm never up this early, but this sunrise could make anyone happy, or sunset, not sure which.

Weekend

Well, the weekend is over, and now its back to another week. I cannot say off to work tomorrow, because I work all weekend long, every day.

The weather was nice this weekend, in the 60's and 70's and the next 3 days are suppose to maybe hit 80. wow! what a good start of the week.

We didn't do much, Taylor went to her dad's this weekend, and we just hung out. I did get to buy some flowers for the flowerbeds this weekend, but probably won't put them in til tomorrow or tomorrow night........I'm so ready to get flowers out, they make it look like summertime.

I've been so busy on eBay the past week........and it makes the days go fast. I'm trying to expand my website with a new edition of supplies from a friend online who sells girl scouting stationary/etc. I'm hoping I can do some business for her!

Well, I must get to wal-mart tonight, and its 9:00, but the only time I can get a car to run errands, i need to buy some tape to process orders tomorrow or I'll never get supplies. I thought I had everything from my errand trip yesterday but of course, not!

So, off to Wal-Mart I go on a late night trip!

I'm just hanging out today catching up on eBay and getting some listings up. The weather is great, in the low 70's and mostly sunny all day. The next 5 days look great. Spring is definitely here. I'm so anxious next weekend to get some flowers for the flower beds and soon get our canopy/gazebo tent back and put a new one up soon. I miss the look in the yard so much!

Back again

wow! its been a week since I've blogged, how dreadful, laughing.........

Guess I've been busy, I'm back on eBay keeping busy and now trying to keep up to date with my orders on my website, busy busy busy!

PLus, Spring is here.......the weather has been beautiful, in the 70's the past few days and no rain in the 5 day forecast, yippee! the past 3 days have been just sunny and great. Hate to stay inside but work has to be done. Didn't do a whole lot the past week, just hung out over the weekend, Taylor went to my mom & dad's since they were away all last week, its been 2 weekends she's been there, and she acts like that is forbidden. So, she spent Thursday through Sunday with them......gave me a little break and some freedom to get some stuff done with my business/website. Although it does get lonely here w/out her, Steve works all day and has been doing alot on weekends........he has to work this Saturday too, so it'll be like 6 days home alone.
Not sure if Taylor will be around this weekend or not..........

Well, just wanted to touch base since its been a week, and the weather is beautiful so hoping to get out tonight and enjoy it.

Weekend update

Well, its been since the weekend since I've blogged, not much going on. The weekend was beautiful as far as temp's, in the 80's.......I'm feeLing some sunburn today and probably will all week long. It feels like SPRING! yeehaw!

Sunday was my birthday, and nothing was really done.........I just sat around outside enjoyed the 80 degree temp's and got a little sun. The rain is on its way tomorrow for a day or 2, but the cold temp's hopefully are gone.

We are trying to get ready for summer months, we need to get a new gazebo canopy tent for out back, hoping this weekend......but they want 194.00 for them, and not sure if that's in our budget this week.

Taylor was home from schooL today sick. Has the 24 hr bug I guess........so she's been miserable all night and day. She's starting to feel a little better now. She wants to eat, so that's good. But she wants to eat the wrong things, so we're taking it easy through the night.

We're just hanging out here doing nothing tonight, Steve went bowling, his last night at the bowling alley for the winter leagues. He'll have off a few weeks now. And then just playing 1 league during the summer, not 3 like now. Thank goodness. Gets expensive playing 3 leagues all at one time. That's 3 nights a week he's gone.

Well, better get kicking on some orders, I took a kitty cat nap and now I'm raring to go.......have a great week!

Not Much Going On

Well, not sure what to call today, just an ordinary day I guess. Today wasn't nothing special, Steve went to work all day and I just stayed home working on orders, I have sooo sooo sooo much to do its unreal. Trying to catchup on orders for Girl Scout troops for end of year scrapbooking meetings. I'm stressing so bad right now. but I get so much more done when Steve is not home, not sure why but I do. He doesn't distract me or anything, he keeps to himself all day but knowing he's home I guess puts me in a non-working mood.

So, I did get like 3 orders done today, and doesn't seem like much but doing the paper bag albums, those take me about 1 hour or 2.........and I had a paper bag album to do today and many many more to do tomorrow and everyday I should say.

Well, its late, I'm tired and heading to bed early, have a great day!

Nor'Easter hits us hard!

Well, I wanted to post some photos from the weekend, instead I had to share our Nor'Easter pics which destroyed our backyard entertainment for the summer time. Our canopy tent out back was flipped and destroyed last night from high winds. It hit us with hard rain and winds that were unreal in speed.

Our canopy tent has been anchored in our yard for 2 years now, even through winter months and never had this problem...........what a disappointment this morning waking to this view:

Weekend

Well the weekend is over and I have some photos to share which I will have more time in the morning to post them. WE started to lay our patio pavers down, we went to a Luau Party, and Taylor & Steve went trout fishing, she caught her 1st trout.

We are getting pounded with lots of rain since last night and its so wet and damp out and it sure doesn't feel like spring. I think its to get windy tomorrow and rain more. What a yucky day!

Where is Spring?

Where is Spring? gosh, this is terribLe.........it is now April 14th and still no springlike weather. I'm so tired of this chilly weather and now a NorEaster coming through tomorrow? right.......although we're to get mostly rain. I'm not real happy about the weather.

We just got some pavers to put a patio down underneath our canopy for the summer, and its so cold out to do it.........we might get out there anyways today (Low 50's) and get 'em laid down before all this rain hits us........not sure if laying them would be smart or not, we'll discuss that this afternoon when it warms up a little bit, warm up? when? yeah right.

Well, I cannot believe its been aLmost a week since my last blog. Been busy this week running sales on my site and processing orders. Girl Scouts is soon ending (most end the end of May) and everyone is ordering like crazy, last minute projects for the scouts I guess.

I have a busy day today, so it'll be a quick BLOG today, have a great weekend!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! It was a nice Easter here with our family and friends. We went to my mom & dad's today for a nice Easter dinner: the entire works -- Ham, sweet potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole, Corn, Brocolli salad, and some goodies like pies, cake, fruit salad and more! My cheesy potatoe recipe went the best, it was gone before going back for 2nd's.....which I hate cause it so darn good!

We had our annual easter egg hunt in 40 degree weather, burrh! the kids are now 14 and 11 and we still do it each year with about 60 plastic eggs and goodies hidden inside......anything from candy (mostly candy) to lottery tickets, to money and gifts this year....We found all but 1 egg, 59 --- 1 egg is still missing in their yard and someday soon it'll be found. Where could that little eggie be?

We spent all day sitting around gossiping and laughing. And enjoying our photos out on MyHeritage.com which was so fun.........everyone had a good laugh on that! Try it sometime www.myheritage.com

So, the easter day is over and now its back to school and back to work. I'm even more behind now with being off all day today and away from the computer but felt good.

Where is the spring weather?

Its Saturday and its CoLd

Its Saturday and its CoLd.........last year at this time if you look at my blog entry from this week last year, it was springlike temp's. I even had some hanging basket flowers outside on the patio table. Not this year. Its about 40 degrees and expecting low temp's overnight of 20 degrees. Burrh! No warm easter tomorrow.

Not sure what's going on today, I might just hang out at home and try to get some orders together and get going back on eBay.......I need to get some money coming in regularly again. Taking a break from eBay is killing my pocketbook and bill spending money.

Just got back from the grocery store, post office and bank and its only 11:00a.m. Was up early and ambitious I guess. Or maybe not. The grocery store was busy but checkout time was pretty quick, I was surprised.

Well, everyone have a NICE EASTER, not sure if I'll be able to blog tomorrow or not. Will be spending all day at mom & dad's with family -- and eating lots of HAM! YUM!

Autism Awareness Month -April

This month is Autism Awareness month. I was just reminded of this when watching and still am watching the VIEW today. They are basing today's show entirely on Autism.

This month amongst every month of the year is important to those who struggle with a family member with autism. I know all about autism only because my bestest friend's little boy, Travis, who is now turning 11 this year was diagnosed at about age 2, I could be wrong on that but I know they caught it early. Travis has grown so much and is such a great little boy. He at once wouldn't even recognize who you are, and now can talk and really communicate with everyone. Nobody really knows what autism is all about until you know someone going through this............and I give a big SHOUT OUT to my girlfriend and her husband (and family members too) grandparents, for sticking by Travis and be supportive. It takes a strong mom & dad to believe in their child. I've seen the struggles and I know I would be able to do it as a mother too but its very very hard.

Its Sunday

Its Sunday, the weekend is over as its about 9:40p.m. now and soon ready to head to bed. Nothing much happened this weekend: Steve went fishing all weekend (photos to come), I spent the weekend alone (yeah) and Taylor was at my mom & dad's all weekend.

Taylor went to a dance/fun night Friday night at a local community center which she loves. Its for 6th,7th and 8th graders. They have a DJ and fun activities from 7-10p.m.

I just hung out here at home catching up on things from the website and also went out alone this weekend to hang out and have a few drinks.

Today Steve came home, and we just hung here at home all day doing nothing. Re-cooping from the weekend.

I have so much to do this week. Have a great night!

1 Year of Blogging - wow!

1 year of Blogging, wow! That's hard to believe that this month last year I started my bLog. Looking back over the past year, its amazing to see what you have done and your life entries. Its very fun! I'm so glad I started blogging and hope to be doing this next year at this time for 2 years.......so much fun!

I have had about 232 entries in 1 year, so I did miss a few days there, but that's alot to read over and remember.

New Toys

Here are my latest toys that I wanted to share with everyone. I am trying to expand my business by making things myself, instead of buy and reselling all the time. I make alot of PUNCH ART pieces for Girl & Boy Scouts and therefore, I'm very creative. I will have to post some of my artwork this weekend.

Anyways, I purchased 2 new machines that are allowing me to cut my own pieces, some pieces I would buy from another business and use in my artwork. This way I can do it myself and save some money. The cost I already put out for these machines are back in my pocket in a month's time so it was worth the investment. They are such fun cooL tools for scrapbooking and cutting.
This machine (above) is called the SIZZIX die cutting machine. You put a die plate underneath it (its very heavy by the way) and pull the handle down, it instantly cuts the cardstock into the shape........I only use a few plates with this so far. Its very fun, kids love it. (If your interested in buying one, email me personally wendyL@thegspatch.com they are about 65.00 retail plus shipping) I can ship one to you no problem.

This machine is new! and I love it....well worth the money I paid for it and I won't mention how much but put it this way, it was an investment. Xyron WishbLade. If your interested in one as well, email me, my local scrapbook store probably can get one and ship to you, but may take some time to do so. They are very popular and hard to get right now. This machine cuts anything you want with paper, vellum, even fabric they say ---- shapes, words, letters -anything you can create on your computer. Its great! and has made my business expand big time. I cannot wait to keep learning more about this machine and what it can do!

Today's Agenda

Today's agenda plans to do some errands. I just didn't realize how important transportation is when you don't have a car. I have had my car sitting for almost 7 months now unable to figure out why it won't run, my mechanic is even at his wits end, guess its time to junk the red beast,although it still looks good, I cannot afford to have it sit any longer. But that's a whole nother story..............

I plan to do some errands today, go to the bank, post office and Wal-Mart. I have my mom's car today and I'm going to take advantage of it. Steve is just working too long hours, 10-12 hrs per day and hours that I cannot get errands done unless its a wal-mart run which is open 24 hrs a day and who wants to go shopping at midnight.....not me.
So, Taylor and I plan to head out soon as I get some packages addressed, labeled and taped up. I need to make sure I get all supplies and food today for a few days, cause Steve's schedule again next week looks full.

I just appreciate having a car, and thanks mom for letting me borrow it.........soon I will be getting a new one, even if its a small cheap car, something to get me from the house to Wal-Mart and back, that's all I need. My cars inspection and tags run out this month and end of April so I have to figure something out soon. I have 1 last option, a new computer for my car, which I found one on eBay that is guaranteed to work and can be returned if needed.....its only 30.00, so I'm willing to try 30.00 more before I junk it, although my mechanic told me not to waste anymore money on it........I only really put about 50.00 in it since it let me sit last Aug/Sept. So, I don't think that's too bad.

I've really been slacking on my blogging lately, I'm only blogging maybe 2x per week now, I'm just busy trying to get my website going, I'm trying to slack on ebay and get my site running steadily. But its not working, I'm working more now than ever. But soon I'll have it all ready and can reLax.

Well, its already 10:00 a.m. and I must get going. Have a great weekend!

Deep Water 2 : ADRIFT

You gotta see this movie if you haven't already. We belong to NETFLIX.COM and highly recommend to become a member, we rent 2-4 movies a week.......and we watched this movie tonight, "Deep Water 2: ADRIFT." YOu have to see part 1 though to understand, although I guess you could get away without watching it. They are both based on true stories which is totally scarey thinking that they actually went through that.............rent it! You won't be disappointed. Trust me!

Another SNOW STORM

Yes, got another Snow Storm on Friday, all morning and all night it snowed and snowed and snowed. In our area, which was the hardest hit in the southeastern part of Pa in our county's, we got about 9-11" of snow........whoa!

I'm seeing 50's for this week, so please melt away and don't come back!

More Snow

More snow...........yes.........I said the dreaded word I wanted to see no more of this year, SNOW!

We had 75 degree temp's yesterday and now its raining, a little cooler today in the low 60's, and now its to drop to 30's tonight and SNOW 4" of it tomorrow. Its to be a WET SNOW, so not sure what it'll do, keep the kids home? not sure. Keep us home? probably not. Just enough to make a sloppy mess on top of this rain and make winter stick around longer. What a mess!

So, I don't look forward til tomorrow, but hopefully after that, we're done with snow!

Feels Like Spring

Oh, yes, it feeLs like spring today, probably about 65 degrees out there maybe warmer, but when I see 65, its fine to me!

I cannot believe its been almost a week since I blogged, gosh! I'm slacking.

Guess I've been busy and yes I have been. I am trying to keep up with ebay orders and web orders, plus get new inventory in to sell now on my website. I just got a new account with a wholesale supplier for Scrapbooking/Craft items, and I'm trying to figure out what will work on my site. Its so much fun to add new items.

The weather has finally been nice to us the past 2 days. Tomorrow and Thursday we are still looking at high 60's, and 50's but then RAIN is on the way. I didn't get out much today, not much to do out there, still a little muddy and soggy from the past snow and ice we had. WE still have spots of ice/snow out back in our yard in areas where the sun don't shine too much. The kids are outside now and I figured Taylor would try to get her homework done in school so she wouldn't have much to do tonight since the weather is nice. I even must say the front and back doors are hanging wide open and a window cracked in the front living room.............

I'm not getting too excited about the warm weather cause I know they are calling for 40's this weekend, so its not here to stay yet. But I sure will enjoy it as I can the next 2 days.

Ok, more Snow!

Ok, more snow........it snowed most of the morning today and afternoon. Its now ended, and I actually saw 56 degrees on the forecast by NEXT week, yeah! I know its a week away but who cares........56 degrees and maybe even 60's I heard.

We got about 3-4" of snow today, nothing major. Mostly light snow and was so easy to shovel. The kids had a blast sledding. Taylor was outside most of the afternoon with the neighbor kids sledding, and she even missed dinner. She really must have had fun, she was late (actually she didn't miss it) but she was not in before dinner asking "When is dinner ready?" I just left her go and have fun........she'll come home when she is hungry I thought, or it'll be getting dark, one or the other.

So, back to schooL tomorrow, another make up day for schooL which stinks cause the kids are now missing all their days off the rest of the year by making up snow days.

Hopefully this is the LAST OF THE SNOW, fingers crossed XXXXXXXXX . I wanted to take photos today but was so busy inside working, I forgot.

More Snow

Can you believe they are calling for more snow tomorrow? I cannot believe this.....I'm so ready for spring, how many times must I say this?

They are calling for 1-4" in our area, which I'm hoping we get 1" or less. If we're lucky.....I'm so sick of WINTER.

Feeling Better

I'm back, as you see I haven't blogged since Wednesday, that's a good 4 days........I've been trying to take it easy and get this antibiotics to work so this bronchitis goes away. I feel much better after 4 days of med's and although I still have a slight cough and shortness of breath, I'm feeling it going away.

I have so much to do. I'm getting behind on orders even more now, and I'm hoping the next 2 days will help me catch up.

The weather temp's are back to normal they say. We are finally feeling 40-50 degree weather this week, normal temp's. I am so ready for spring as I' ve stated in the past blogs. I am just so ready for warmer weather but not too warm yet, just spring like temp's. I could deal with 60 degree weather year round.

Steve has been working alot lately, he leaves about lunchtime and don't get home til later that night around 10-11:00, they are putting alot of hours in and this week ahead is to be very very busy with banquets every night he said.

I'm so ready to get my car back running too. I looked across the street today and the snow is still around the front of my car, but easily to get to now, and melting slowly --- I'm hoping maybe this week we can put a new fresh battery in it and see if it'll start. Fingers crossed XXXX. I don't want to have to buy a new car. But I do really need my car back.

Bronchitis

Ok, I found out yesterday after a month & a half of torture that i have bronchitis. I was put on antibiotics yesterday and I'm hoping to get rid of this nasty chest cold and yuck!

The med's didn't agree with me this morning as I took them (per pharmacist instructions) on an empty stomach and everything came up, sorry for the details. After 2 hours I felt fine........and now I'm taking them WITH FOOD and I feel so much better. I'm hoping to have this out of me by the weekend. I'm so tired and worn out from this cold, its been since mid-January now.

Guess waiting was not the smart thing........the doctor bill wasn't that expensive, and the med's weren't that expensive either. Always happens that way, we think a car bill or doctor bill is going to cost us a fortune and it doesn't. Oh well....we learn from our mistakes.

The weather is suppose to warm up tomorrow and Friday with rain. And then chilly again for the weekend. Hopefully this rain will melt the ice/snow away, whatever is left behind. My car is half dug out now thanks to the garage across the street, someone came in and plowed the back and half my side open. Now we just need the rain to melt the rest away so I can get my car back or at least find out if it'll run again.

Well, its late, and I'm tired. I need all day tomorrow to work on ebay and website orders, so I need a good nights rest. Plus DEAL OR NO DEAL is on.........cannot miss my man Howie! Love that bald head. :-)

Waiting for more Snow & Ice

Well, we're now waiting for more snow and ice again today. We were just starting to thaw out and melt away, and now another storm coming our way today, all day! Although they said 9:00 this morning and its now 11:00a.m. and still nothing has happened here yet. They are calling for 1-3" of snow and ice.....not as bad as last week or the week before but still enough to make it miserable again.

I am just so ready for SPRING!!!!!

Thawing Out

We are actually thawing out today, it hit 49 degrees they said, maybe warmer. I cannot believe it, I can see my car below the tires now from the snowstorm a week ago. Everything is still ice and I finally was able to clear a little bit of our sidewalk out front to walk to our steps. We still have snow up to our backporch (which is probably about 6" +) and ice everywhere. Its hard to believe when you walk on the snow you still don't sink in like normal. But everything is melting now.....and hopefully flooding won't be an issue.

Tonight its suppose to get cold again and tomorrow in the 30's but I can deal with the high 30's for a few days and warmer weather again towards the weekend. I just want 60 degree weather and I'm happy. I want to get my car running again but until we have a major melting spell, my car isn't going anywhere, its still buried with snow piles from the plow trucks. Really stinks.

Compared to our weather lately, it feels like a light spring today. 49 degrees + is spring compared to what we have had: temp's in the teens...............burrh!

We are getting ready to head to the craft store for some items for a schooL project and to pick some items up at the local scrapbook store so I can do some MAJOR ORDER PACKING tonight, I'm so excited to get these orders mailed.......I'm finally catching up.

FeeLing Crappy

Still feeLing crappy here, and today is a short bLog entry.

I've been sick since about January 17th, and it stinks...........I'm about ready to bare down and go to the doctors. Last week I was feeling a little better, and feeling like I was getting rid of this darn chest cold (although my voice was still harsh) and now its back. I'm flemmy again and coughing more than ever. I'm still taking my medicine and cough med's but it just won't leave me.

ALot of people I taLk too, said its hanging around and hard to get rid of now. Some people they know have it for 3-4 weeks too........weLL, its going on 4 weeks alright, maybe 5.

I'm having backaches now, which I never ever had. I haven't had back pain since I was pregnant with TayLor, and now my lower back on my right side has been acheing and hurting all day. Hopefully I just slept on it wrong last night.

Well, I'm heading to bed early tonight......Steve is helping out working 3rd shift hours tonight with friends of ours, (cleaning business) so he won't be here tonight, maybe I'll sleep better alone.

Too CoLd for Snow Tubing

Oh my gosh, tonight TayLor's Youth Fellowship from Church went snow tubing. Not only did we experience one of the worse ice storms that I can remember, but its so bitterly cold out, like 15 degrees or less. And a little windy. We froze. Hoping they would reschedule it, we went for 1 hour. Normally I wouldn't do a $10.00 snow tubing price for 1 hour, but with how cold it was, it was worth it. She had fun. Next time we go we'll take some closer friends along.

some of the other kids stayed longer, it was a 10.00 charge for all night, which is a great deal! But 1 hour was our limit.

I hear next week they are calling for 50 degree weather by Friday, oh gosh! I cannot wait. That will feel like spring for us!

Avalanche Express is only about 5-10 mins from our house, so its not far but it is just do darn cold out it was freezing. Here are some photos to share:

What not to Do

This is what I wanted to try to prevent the other day by getting my car up and running so we could move it and park it in our regular parking spots out back of our house. Because it's sitting across the street at our local garage waiting to be fixed, although we now know it needs a new battery and a little bit of gas after sitting for 3+ months, there is NO WAY getting in there now.

Our wonderful plow trucks have plowed me in and our nice neighbors put their snow piles in front and in back of my car. Might as well wait now and the worse part is .......THIS IS ALL ICE on top of the snow and its not easy to get it cleared out.

The mail hasn't run now for 2 days, and I'm hoping it runs today but fingers crossed XXXX.

There's no where for anyone to park on the front streets and alot of things are put on hold.

Above is a picture taken today, Thursday and the picture below was yesterday after the snowstorm before the snow plowing started. Didn't look too bad yesterday huh? Until I retook the picture above today!

What not to do, let your car sit on a busy street during a snow storm.

Snow and Ice Storm

Yesterday morning we woke up to a snow storm, it starting with just snow, the kids were home by 11:00a.m. after a 3 hour day, which was a waste of gas for the school buses, but anyways.........it snowed all day long and then last evening started to ice/sleet/rain. Boy! all night long you could hear it on the windows while "trying" to sleep, pitter patter on the windows, sometimes very hard. We woke up this morning to the pics below that I took .........ice!

Here in Pennsylvania we'd rather have 12" of snow than 2" of ice, like we got. Snow we can handle, but ice? nobody can.......your inside for the entire day. It was very hard to shovel, dig out and everything is just solid ice. You walk on the 6" + of snow we got and you don't even sink down.

A tree out back made this very nice picture!

My car (red one) is buried sitting across the street at the garage, we tried to get it running yesterday to move it out back where we normally park but the battery was simply dead and we had no time to get a new one. So, my car got buried last night and probably will get buried more and more as the snowplow trucks keep going pass all day long.

Steve and a neighbor guy were trying to help this car that got stuck turning into an alley way (which still isn't plowed open as I write this blog), he finally got through the snow/ice after several pushes and pulls.

Memories

Today I can remember a dear friend of mine, his name was Bret Leiphart. Today is special cause it would have been his 36th birthday today, February 12th.

He passed away about 10 years ago, on Jan.31st due to a snowmobile accident and I miss him dearly. Even though we were just friends at the time, it was a horrible lost to me mostly cause I spent 7 years of my life with him from 10th grade through 2 years into college before we split up. At one time we even talked marriage.

Something funny to post about him is the fact that every year on his birthday he thought he was speciaL, cause he was born on Abraham Lincoln's birthday. He always said he was the man on this day and he was blessed to celebrate Abe's birthday with him. What a nut. He was so proud and truly thought this day was dedicated to him and not Abe when they mentioned Feb.12th every year.

He was my memories in high schooL. There is nothing more precious than memories in schooL and I guess that is what hurts the most knowing he is no longer here and those memories are so strong. So, I just wanted to mention his birthday today cause I'm sure his family & friends are thinking of this special day today! Miss you Bret!

Frigid CoLd

I wanted to blog today about the SUPER BOWL PARTY we had last night but its so coLd out this morning that I'm sitting here with a chiLL on ...........its 7 degrees right now. The kids have a 2 hour schooL deLay and therefore, haven't even been on the bus yet, although any minute now its picking them up. What a cold Frigid day, burrrhhh! coLd.

It was so cold last night, the wind was horrifying and I just cannot believe its this coLd out.

I will post some Super BowL pictures later today or tomorrow. We had a good time, I think the cold weather kept alot of guests at home this year, but that's ok, we had about 12 guests arrive and we had a blast.

Da Bears or Da CoLts

Well, who should we root for today's SUPER BOWL PARTY SUNDAY? I think I must say I want the COLTS to win, but I'd like to see the BEARS to win since its been 21 years since they've been to a Super Bowl.

We are preparing our party right now, and I'm about ready to close the computer up til MondaY.

We have food coming, HOT WINGS, 6 FOOT SUB, TURKEY CHILI, NACHOS/CHEESE, BEER AND SO MUCH MORE! It's going to be a fun party, plan to take some pictures as we bought a new digital camera on Friday, and cannot wait to try it out today.

We have door prizes, mardi gras beads for your team whichever your prefer (orange or blue), and lots of gambling games to attend for the evening.

First Real Snow

WeLL, tonight we had our 1st reaL snow of this winter and its Feb.2nd already. Ground hogs day. We had about 1-2" of snow tonight, enough to cover the ground but not the roads. It is so cold outside now, and this snow will make things real icey overnight. We're staying in for the night and decided to hang out in the warmth.

We normally go out on Friday nights when Taylor goes away for the weekend, she's at her dad's this weekend. But tonight its an early night. I'm still feeling half sick and coughy. My chest is still congested and hurting from coughing alot. We are going to try to get a little bit tomorrow night before our big day on Sunday - SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!

I'm about ready to head to bed so have a great weekend!

Still Sick Here

I am still trying to get over being sick. I lost my voice 3 days ago and barely can talk, mornings are rougher than anything, as the day goes by I sound better. I have a chest cold and its just building up now that it wants out!!!!! I cannot wait til it gets out.

Steve --- ok, so far (fingers crossed)

Fingers crossed on Steve cause he's the one who goes to work......we cannot afford anymore days off work. I can work at home, which is a God-send...although I find myself laying on the couch alot watching TV cause I'm so drained out and tired. This cold is taking the toll on me. I bet its been over a year since I've been truly sick with a cold like this. And chest colds make me lose my voice, how sweet!

I'm staying inside as much as I can now, since its like 17 degree outside in the mornings, winter is definitely here. I think our 5 day forecast said the highest temp this week was suppose to be like 32.....burrhhh!
I'm drinking lots of water and fluids and sucking down the med's........gotta be better before Sunday when we're expecting a house full of guests for our annual SUPER BOWL PARTY.

New Haircut

I got a new haircut this week. Its short, shorter than usual. I always wear my hair up in a clip in the back looking like a rooster taiL, or as one of my friends wants said " a bird's nest." Which I wasn't sure was a compliment or not. Knowing him, It was not a compliment.

Anyways, I'm trying to wear my hair down now, and not rely on that clip. We shall see how it goes. It does feel good to have a new haircut, but I'm just not use to it yet. When I'm around the house not going anywhere, I still throw it up in that clip, Like today. I don't plan to go anywhere but chilling at the house.

Steve is working today, and Taylor is at my parents house for the weekend. She just loves to go there on weekends, and it seems like a weekend thing now. I have tons of orders to put together today and hope I can get something done. Just me and Smokey (our cat) hanging out.

Its so cold outside and makes you want to stay inside anyways. I really should be getting things ready for next weekend too, the big SUPER BOWL PARTY here on the 4th.........but we do have all week to prepare for that.

I have this nasty COLD thing going on, so does Taylor. It felt like it was disappearing this week and now its back, I woke up this morning feeling yucky and icky in my throat, I'm coughing now and my sinus' are draining. I just feel nasty. My voice is harsh when I talk.......so I better just veg today and stay inside. WE plan to hang out tonight and watch some Movies we have from Netflix (which by the way I recommend to join if you can)....we have 2 movies here "Monster House" and "World Trade Center." We want to watch them so we can return them on Monday for our next 2 movies to come our way. We really like Netflix and we get 2 movies unlimited per month for like 12.99, you cannot beat that cause we can watch 4 movies per week which covers that price already in 1 week's time. Highly recommended to join!

Peyton Manning ......He's the Man!

Ok, Peyton Manning's going to the SUPER BOWL. Yeehaw! He's my man in NFL, even though Steve is a Redskins fan, he knows all about Peyton Manning......just ask him.

I was a little disappointed when the Bears beat the Saints last night but guess I can't have everything. We throw a BIG SUPER BOWL PARTY every year and I truly wanted the Colts against the Saints.......but we'll deal with the BEARS. They deserve it, 1st time in 21 years to the Bowl game. Now we can start planning our team colors and themes............Horseshoes and Bears? hmmmmmm???? Guess I better get thinking.

FeeLing Icky

Yes, we all feeL icky this week. TayLor and I both have the icky coLd........sneezing, coughing and running noses. I mostly have the sneezes and running nose. I just feel icky. I took a nap earlier which helped a little bit but this darn weather.

I think spending 9 hours in the ER last weekend with STeve and all those germs, gave me this coLd. Or TayLor passed it on to me. She's been fighting a cold for a few weeks now and I think it finally got here.

I'm sitting here drinking some peach schnapps with orange juice. Why not? the orange juice is good for a cold right, and the peach schnapps helps me feel better in more way than 1. Laugh.

The weather is shooting down to 17 degrees tonight, burhhhhh! gosh that's cold. It was so windy today and cold, it felt like 5 degrees outside. We did our trip to Wal-Mart today for things and food and I heard someone in the aisle mention bad storm weather Sunday --- that's why it wsa so crazy in there. We just went for our annual weekly trip and everyone hears that dreaded word "snow" and runs to the grocery stores. Its so funny!

Well, everyone keep warm........its a stay inside weekend. Good time to scrapbook!

Today is my dad's birthday January 18th. We are heading out for a birthday dinner tonight. Hope your day was great as your a super dad and a super great pap!

Weekend Review.........

What a weekend! Its been a few days since I blogged simply because the weekend was long and drug out. Steve was sent to the hospital on Saturday night to get checked out for a pain in his lower stomach area. We thought his hernia was acting up again.

We got the hospital after he got off work around 9:30-9:45 p.m. and waited for about 1 1/2 hour til they got him checked/signed in. Not too bad I thought......and then they put him in a waiting room to see the doctor. We waited and waited, which we figured we'd have to wait a little bit. I finally got tired of sitting on a hard chair and went back out to the waiting room in the ER room with soft seats. Finally after 2 hours, they came and got me, informed me they hooked Steve up to an IV and was going to run a Cat Scan in 2 hours, because he had to drink this nasty drink before doing a Cat Scan.........it took 2 hours to take effect? And that would be about 2:00a.m.

Back to the waiting room I went, and finally at 3:30 I went back to find out what was up ---he said he just got back from the Cat Scan, they never came to get him til 2:45. Now waiting for results...................

Back to the waiting room I went. He was still on Iv's..........finally at about 5:00 after being so irritable and tired of sitting and waiting, I went back (again) and starting to ask questions myself, and got irritable again. The doctor finally told us nothing showed on the cat scan and a surgeon would have to be called down and most likely admit him to run more tests, and admit for 24 hours to watch him.

So, I went home..........it was now 6:00a.m. when I pulled in the driveway, hungry and tired. I went to bed and got up about 12:30p.m. Not much sleep but better than anything.

To make a long story short, he was admitted all day Sunday and just got home today about 3:30 after being discharged. Still no real answer to what was wrong. It wasn't his appendix, no kidney stones, and no hernia..........maybe a pulled muscle is what he told us today. Steve had some major surgery as an infant in that same area, and he said its possible the organs inside got moved from heavy lifting and pulled a muscle in there. He's still hurting but on pain pills and at home to relax. He'll be back to work by Thursday.

What a weekend.......running back and forth to the hospital is just not fun! I don't want to go through that again.

I did get to the scrapbook store on Sunday with Rhonda to sit and chat and scrapbook for about 2 1/2 hours. Get my mind off that and just take a breather. It was nice to get out and scrapbook, although I talked more than scrapped. :-) laugh. I had fun. I plan to take Taylor next weekend since she missed this trip. It's been months since we went to the scrapbook store to sit down and scrapbook together. She spent the weekend with her dad.

Now we're ready to get back in the swing of things and get back to daily routines. School is back in session tomorrow after a 4 day weekend.

Well, its 12:54 a.m. and time to get to bed.......didn't realize it was this late. We've been watching movies all night and lost track of time, watched "YOU, ME & DUPREE" and then watched "JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE." What a good selection.

First Snow

Wow, we had our 1st Snow of the year on Wednesday, that was 3 days ago, I'm a Little behind on blogging this week, I'm trying to catch up on things with eBay and my website plus prepare taxes.

Yes, tax time.......I'm always ready to file my in January, lucky me.

But anyways, we woke up Wed. morning to a little bit of snow on the ground, nothing major but enough to scrape the car windows and see a dusting of white powder. We have been so lucky this winter (so far) with springlike temp's. In fact, today its in the 50's, low 50's but doesn't feel like winter to me. I know one of these weeks we're going to get hit hard.

The kids have off school today and Monday for snow-make up days but what days to make up? None, so they get a lovely 4 day weekend at home with us......what fun! 4 days of "I'm bored, there's nothing to do." They turn around and go back to school next week and the following week have another 2 days off. January is filled with days off school. Lucky us.

We went to the dentist this morning, Taylor's bi-annual trip for her cleaning, good checkup. No cavities to report, yeah! We have a new dentist now that her insurance covers, she loved her last dentist and now we had to switch, she didnt' like this one at all. The whole way home she complained her tummy hurt from the stuff they made her take, fluoride that is. Poor thing, I remember those days, exactly the same thing. I hate the dentist, then now and always will. So, I know exactly where she's coming from. Hopefully in July it'll be a better trip.

Well, I have tons to catch up on from having the morning off.

Catching up on some photos from Christmas, this photo is the surprise look from Taylor as she opened her Mp3 Player which Steve stuffed way down in the bottom of her stocking, last item she opened. What a look of surprisement!!!! She had no clue......I think this was her favorite gift!

New Years Resolution

Ok, everyone always does the New Years Resolution's every year. Most of which are lose weight, quit smoking amongst others. Mine this year........drum roll please............

To pay my bills on time all year long.

????????? That's a very hard goal. I admit we are always late on our bills, they get paid but at the very last minute. But first, I have 2 bills to get caught up by end of this month and I'm starting this New years Resolution Feb.1st.......wish me Luck! I'm going to need it. But now that Steve's back to work and soon to be working 2 jobs probably next week his 2nd job will start again, we should have no problem keeping our rent, and bills up to par.

So, that's my new years resolution!

the new Job- Chef

oK, to play catchup now.......I've been away from my blog so much I have tons of pictures to share with everyone.

Steve just started a chef job in Lancaster about 4 weeks ago, I wanted to take a pic of him, one in a lifetime picture and he brought his hat home the other day, as I told him, he needs the entire work outfit on to make it complete. Here is a picture, smile Steve -don't look so happy.
He really enjoys this new job.

Computer Crash

Oh no~ my computer crashed last Wednesday 12/20 and hasn't been home since. Of course, I have been checking emails/ebay website stuff throughout the weekend but its been crazy! I cannot do anything with orders, and the worst time of the year for this to happen.

I'm using my parents computer to check everything once a day and do as much as possible while I'm here, and I have so much to talk about. I cannot wait to get it back, hoping tonight or tomorrow (after 1 week of waiting) they said 3-5 days to repair it and see what's wrong.

Our holiday went too fast, or actually not having a computer at home was refreshing but also disappointing with my customers, I'm hoping to take 1 full day and get things caught up when I get it back.

A/C in the winter time?

What's up with the AC on it in the wintertime? Ok, I admit it, I went shopping today and actually had the AC running in the car and the windows down, yikes! will I end up sick? Probably not........but its now Dec.17th and a week from Christmas and its not what its suppose to be weather temperature wise, like 30-40 degrees in Pennsylvania. But its 65 degrees out? Like spring time or late fall weather here.........I love it! But sure don't feel like December in PA here.

I was shopping today and had no jacket, and the windows down in the car sweating (which doesn't take much for me to sweat) but its unreal.........guess we better enjoy it whiLe we can.

The neighbor boy, Bryce, had his bday party today and usually they are inside with snow on the ground....but today I got home unloading the car and they boys were all outside running around and playing in the yard. Very odd to see that happen.

The heat is off in the house, saving us on gas $$ yeah! I wont' complain.

Probably next week it'll feel like winter, but for now I can handle this 60-65 degree weather.

WHERE'S THE SNOW???? SHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I wont say that too loud now.

Welp, better get going, we must decorate our tree tonight that's been up for a week now with only lights on it. Happy HoLidays everyone!

TayLor's Concert

Taylors concert was the other night, Wednesday in fact, and I took pics, none of them turned out, they were either blurry or dark. We need a new digital camera, our old one cannot be changed as far as flash settings and now I'm realizing its true, we must break down and get one and I think that' going to be our Christmas gift for both Steve & I instead of buying for one another............tis the Season!
