New Background

Well, I followed a fellow online blogger, Missy -and changed my background and started to be more creative with blogging. Do you like it? I love it, cannot wait to start making my blog more fun and creative!

Weekend

Well, I've been blogging less and less everyday now, I can't believe looking back I have only blogged like 9 times each month this summer. Guess I have been busy but gotta get back to blogging each day or at least every other day.

I got this nasty cold this weekend, guess the change of weather shows........I can't breath, sneezing all day long -what a mess. Its still shorts/short sleeve weather here in the northeast but those cool nights are doing it. It was raining all weekend long, kind of made our annual OPEN HOUSE HARLEY DAVIDSON WEEKEND here in York, PA a dreary nasty weekend. I think it has rained 3 out of 4 times the past few years this event hits our town. Its a very big event on Friday and Saturday here. This year we decided to pass visiting York city to attend this event. Steve was working alot and I've just been feeling nasty.

Today looks like a bright sunny day! 74 and sunny -before another rain showery day tomorrow.
WE are now experiencing softball game cancellations due to rain.......we only play games on weekends now. Hoping we won't be delayed too much in to the fall months.

I need some photos to add to my blog --- I haven't been real picture happy lately --I plan to get my fall/halloween displays outside decorated sometime this week, that would put a real fall touch to the blogging. I think I may do that tonight.

Favorite TV Show

my Favorite show lately seems to "Jon & Kate + 8." Gosh, I just love that show would love to meet that family in person. I know they live close by here in Pennsylvania not real far from York, PA. I try to watch their show each week with their new episodes and checking out their web page as well. They are such a fun family! check 'em out on TV - I know they are on in our area on Monday nights.

Beautiful Day

It was such a beautiful day today, sunny and 80 --- sure doesn't feel like fall to me.

I have been spending alot of time at home alone the past few days because Steve's new job takes him out of town for over 14-16 hours a day. I found out this weekend was kind of boring but not sure if it's nice or boring to be by yourself. I did alot of cleaning and thinking about how the weeks ahead will work. I now have to COOK. Oh no! He won't be home in evenings to cook dinners so I guess it'll be learning for me.
Today we had some BBQ chicken and mashed potatoes, I miss that. So, I guess on Sundays will be our day for a big nice home cooked dinner cause its his only day off.

Well, not much more to blog about today so have a great week and hope your weekend was as sunny and nice as ours.

Tea Party

I needed to add this photo I found on my camera today of Taylor at a tea party luncheon we went too a few weeks back. It was fun and crazy wearing hats and all. It was an experience we will all remember: Katie, mommaw, Taylor and myself.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Katie, my niece who turns 16 today ! Gosh! did I say 16? I can remember when she was walking or crawling around calling me Woody instead of Wendy (as she says)........what a crazy niece.

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her mom, Teresa, too -who had her daughter on her 21st birthday 16 years ago......wow! what a surprise. And we thought you'd be out having a good drink for your 21st, not! you got this little devil as surprise instead.

I haven't been blogging, been real busy getting Taylor back to school, Steve a new job, softball starting and just end of summer events.

Labor Day

Today is Labor Day -its been since 8/18 since I blogged. I've been really busy trying to keep ends tied, money coming in and looking for a new job for Steve.

We've been busy with end of summer stuff.

Today we spent the day at the pool, got my (probably) so called "last sunburn" of the summer sitting by the pool but I just don't care. It was so nice out today just hanging by the pool with no worries. (well I wouldn't say no worries but just relaxing)

Thought I would start Sept.1st with a blog since its been about 12 days or more since I last blogged.
School starts tomorrow, yeah! Taylor is actually excited to go back but some kids are not.

Well, have a great end of summer day -although we do have 90 degree weather settling in all week long.

New Background

I thought I'd try a new background this month -- dark blue. I've been using the same ol' black all summer long, I really wish they'd have more selection for templates to use.......I'm so looking for something more summery or whimsical......

Happy Birthday to Taylor today, she turns 13!!!! Today is my baby girl's birthday--- hope you have a good day, and we look forward to seeing you tonight when you get home............enjoy your teenage years cause they will go fast. Don't rush anything in life, enjoy it and have fun!

In Memory of..........Red

In Memory of.............A dear friend of ours passed on Friday 8/8/08. While camping this weekend we found out by receiving a text about our dear friend, Red. He was a great friend who will be remembered everyday. He was owner of the Red Rock Cafe in Hellam, PA -who passed from a battle with cancer at age 51. We will miss you dearly and God Bless Rox and family during this hard time............

8-8-8

If you haven't taken notice today's date is 8-8-8, August 8th 2008 --- opening day for the BEIJING 2008 SUMMER OLYMPICS, we will miss opening ceremony but I'm sure it'll be an exciting night to watch on TV. 8-8-8 (that doesn't happen too often)
I also heard tonight after the ceremony on TV, Deal or No Deal hits a $1,000,000 million dollar winner!!!!! Wish I could watch that too, I love Howie! He is such a cutie!!!

We're going Camping

We're going camping --- and here are some photos from last year's trip in 2007 --I couldn't find my last camping trip pics at Sickman's Mill --- guess they disappeared in internet computer space somewhere. WE are hoping for a good weather weekend!

Camping

We are preparing for camping this weekend, doing last minute jobs, I have so much to get done and packages mailed before we leave on Friday --- my title word cutter machine has been down for over a week and its on overload working now that its fixed and back running, putting me even further behind on orders. We have to have laundry done and most stuff ready for packing by Thurs night cause I have to deliver almost 500 papers on Friday (filling in -again) for somebodys P.M. ROUTE, and my car will be packed full of papers, no room to prepack the car for camping until we're done delivering Friday about 5:30 or so..........

It'll be nice to get away this weekend, I think weather is looking ok, maybe a chance of thundershowers but nothing major -fingers crossed XXXXX. If its calling for rain, we won't go.
But I truly cannot afford to take a weekend off, my ebay store is so behind on shipments, so Sunday we may head home early -not sure - so I can catchup for a Monday shipment.

what a Day!

All I can say today is WHAT A DAY!

DELIVERING OVER 700 PAPERS TODAY ON OUR PAPER ROUTE AND FOR SOMEONE ELSE. All I can say is I'm tired with only about 6 hrs sleep last night and it was a split sleep from 10pm-1:45a.m. and than again from 7:30a.m. til 10:30a.m. --- not much sleep. I'll be heading to bed tonight early.

I have a few new photos to add from our last softball game this past Friday --will upload and post those tomorrow. Have a great week!

End of Year Pizza Party

Our girls softball team(s) last night ages 10U, 12U and 16U had our annual pizza party -end of year awards ceremony and our 3rd annual Parents vs. Kids softball game. It was a fun night.
We had over 40-50 pizzas (yes, tons of them) and about 20 leftover, think they over bought this year and lots of drinks and fun foods.

I took some pics of the softball game Parents vs.Kids --- and of course the parents "allowed" the kids to win......it was fun.

Softball Game

Last name was supposedly be out last softball game of the season -but we do have another one rescheduled for this Friday night. Here are some pics I took of the girls playing last night's game.

WE did not win, but the other team which is the hometown I live in -Hellam - was the undefeated champs in our division 14-0. I'm glad to see they did it. Even though we did lose.

Camping trip 08

Ok, I don't think I ever shared our camping trip pictures with you all. We went camping in April upstate in PA for trout opening weekend. The guys wanted to try this adventure out as we packed and headed to Raystown Lake camping/fishing for a cold bitter windy weekend in April (which I will never ever do again). It rained, and rained -and was windy and more windy -we lost 1 tent, a few canopies and it was just plain down muddy muddy.

The only good thing was the food...........here are some pictures to share.
We plan to go camping with this group again in August -but trust me, it won't be cold and rainy this time.

Birthday Surprise

A birthday surprise showed up in the mail today for Steve -his birthday is August 2nd, a little early birthday gift with a big smile. And of course its a REDSKINS handmade quilt from his mom in Virginia -- it is very nice, the detail on the quilt is amazing -- it has football embroirdered images on the background and even a football in the corner which is personalized from his mom. She's a great person and she said it took her about 2 months to get this quilt already to go.
