My new Curtains

Here is my latest purchase, my kitchen curtains, I only have this valance up right now but have 2 more to add to my window and above my kitchen sink, it also has a tailored curtain for my regular window but it isn't lowered enough to take a photo yet, I think they are cute!

Just another photo that made me feel like spring today --its to be so nice out today - in the mid 70's and sunny --cannot wait to get outside and enjoy it.

This photo above was taken on May 3rd at Botanical Gardens in Va. It was such a great day to see all these beautiful flowers/settings. It definitely was a spring day!

Botanical Gardens, VA

This weekend we did get a road trip to Virginia........during our stay we tried to do at least 1 thing to entertain ourself as we visited the BOTANICAL GARDENS in Virginia. it was a hot day but it was sure beautiful there, and I took alot of pictures. They had about 4 weddings throughout the gardens that day and again it was such a bright sunny day (enough to get sunburnt) and still enjoy the visit. Here are some of the photos I took, I will share more later.

Yes, this is me (above) and I actually allowed photos of me this day -standing by the fountain.

This photo was taken in front of the kids water works area, called WOW ---- it was even hot enough this day for the kids to participate and splash around and get wet. We were on the tram ride when I took the above photo so I couldn't get a whole lot of the water area park for kids.

And this picture was just so unique of the grass growing on top of this building. It has purple flowers on it too, it was quite pretty.

Road Trip

Its been a crazy week and busy -no time to blog anymore, we're thinking of heading out of town this weekend To Virginia but the cost of gas is killing us, as its hurting everyone. Money is tight until next week and we're just not sure if we'll get there.

We will find out later today if we can swing it...........it would be nice to take a road trip --- but there is so much to do and little time to do it before we take off. Guess I'm heading to work and to see if we can get away for 2 days.........have a great weekend.

The weather here is beautiful today, high 72 and sunny! It'll be a nice afternoon.

New Title Words

Gosh, my ebay store is taking off like hot cakes.......I cannot keep up -keeping running out of cardstock, as I just did and must go to the craft store somehow on Sunday to restock.

I have now over 300+ title words on ebay and averaging about 3-4 orders per day, and these aren't just small orders -they average at least 10-15 words per order. Some are just 1 title per order but still........I'm very happy with my results.

Today

Below is my birthday gift -just had to share with you today what Steve and Taylor got me for my birthday --its a HUGE GERANIUM planter, and I mean huge! It doesn't look real big in this photo but trust me, its bigger than normal. I was eyeing this baby up all week long at a local flower shop we deliver paper to everyday --- but the price wasn't in my budget, guess with a little extra work this week, Steve got it for me.
I cannot wait to see it bloom in full this spring/summer, this will be my baby I pamper everyday!





Well today I turn 37 --- wasn't going to blog about it but decided I would. The day is beautiful -sun is shining- its going to be about 70 degrees today and I couldn't ask for a better day.

Nothing special planned for today -just another day. Although it is Earth Day and election day -those 2 things are all over the news/TV this morning. Earth Day is always on April 22nd every year and I must say its a beautiful Day today.
Turning 37 isn't too bad I guess.

Rock of Love

Rock of Love with Bret Michaels is one of my favorite shows right now. Watching the final episode yesterday and now today the REUNION SHOW was just awesome! AMBER GIRL YOU ROCK!!!

I'm so glad he picked you and hope things work out, in a rocker's lifestyle, good Luck girL!
But you deserve it out of all the gals there and I just love this show!

a Lifetime Friend

a Lifetime Friend of mine Missy is a great friend to have had since 1st grade. Its just not 20 years of being out of school (or actually 19) plus another 12 years, that's over 31 years of being friends with someone, wow! that we must say goodbye to her dear mom Kay. Missy's mom passed away last week at age 64. Very young and that's very scarey to think of being 64 and saying goodbye.

Today I will going to her viewing and saying goodbye and supporting Missy as that lifetime long friend of 31 years. As I look back I don't think Missy and I ever had fights, ever stopped talking but kept being friends through grade school, high school, through college, thru marriage (hers) and through baby showers, birthdays of our children and now this. Geez! it just seems like 31 years is a long time to have a true friend.

I must say I have 2 good friends this way, although we may not talk everyday or chat on the phone weekly - we chat via internet and occasionally update our lives enough to stay friends. Kendra is my other longtime friend, probably even longer than Missy. Kendra and I went to kindergarten together, which probably is 32 years of friendship and again someone who we may have had an occasional spat at Girl Scout camp but nothing long term.

Its good to say I have 2 lifetime friends at hand. And I hate to see Missy go through this horrible ordeal but I will be there today to let her know I'm still her lifetime friend in good and in bad.

Weekend away

It was good to have a weekend away but now we're back, I have lots of pictures to share, but probably won't get to that til tomorrow night so check back. By the way- we went camping in the RAIN & WIND - YUCKY WEATHER, so check back for some fun photos!

Softball

Well, softball is just around the corner and nobody knows in our house where we're playing, laugh. Taylor is now 12 soon to be 13, she played softball for 12U (12 and under) for 3 years now, and I feel she's ready to move up --the next level is 14U but of course our dear softball league in the area we go too is not having a 14U this year-instead wants a 16U and I feel skipping an entire age level is too much for her, not that she couldn't handle it, I just feel its not right to do this to the girls. We're now looking into switching teams -either the team she plays for in the fall or staying in our hometown, which I would rather not do.........here are some photo of Taylor from fall ball.

Busy Morning

What a crazy morning, its only 11:00 and we've been running all morning long. I have to start doing the paper route now alone, and its taking a toll on me. Yesterday was the biggest day of the week and it was in bed last night by 9:30. Today should be too bad.....Friday's are usually a light weight day to deliver.

Steve is back to work and its nice now cause the money will help us get caught up --I cannot wait til he is working steadily and regular with his Landscaping business. Well, I have lots to do this morning (what's left of it) before I head out in the drizzling rain to deliver papers. Have a great day!

So excited

I'm kind of excited this week cause a couple new things happened, I'm back on ebay myself now, I'm hoping it last, its very overwhelming and my newest TITLE WORDS are a hit on ebay with scrapbookers, cannot wait to get my 300 title words listed plus more --I love designing them, and each and everyday I get a new idea.

I have a new sub for our paper route, I cannot wait til she does a complete weekend and it goes well so I feel good about this........it'll seem wierd to have a day off.

Today was so beautiful considering the other day it was so ugly out. it was a little chilly and brisk today with a little bit of wind but the sun was shining to bright -it just felt like spring.

TayLor was home sick from school today -that's not a good thing but she has a bad cold, and is feeling miserable, may even be another day off tomorrow too, we shall see.

Rainy crappy day

All I can say about today is its been a rainy crappy day! Its been spritzing, drizzling -like a real line fine rain all day but enough to make it gloomy and ugly. Warmer is setting in for tomorrow yeah!

This weekend was a long weekend, trained a girl named SUZIE to try to learn my paper route for the weekend for when I would like a day off, yes not a day off since November and I'm so ready for it...it worked out well, she said she was definitely interested and therefore April 11th we're heading out of town for a weekend trip -I'm so ready to get a way and have a weekend away from work, computer, internet and home.........but we're going camping so hoping it'll be nice, warm and no rain!!!!!

Steve makes front page of Newspaper

Ok, here it is, the front page of Friday's paper in our hometown and Steve and Jeremy are on the front page. You can see Jeremy more (up front with tan/white hat on , blue jacket) and Steve is in camo jacket and camo hat putting the fish in the buckets or scooping them out......he's behind the guy in tan jacket. They did this a few weeks ago and been waiting for the pics to hit the paper and of course they put 'em in the paper while they are at the same location this weekend CAMPING/FISHING...........Just thought I'd share this photo -and I'm sure the guys are having fun TROUT FISHING this day of opening trout weekend.

What's new

What's new?

Well, its been about 5 days since I blogged, been very very busy --- working, working, working. That says it all.

Taylor started her paper route this weekend, so far so good. Its only been 2 days but still -why sound negative? Hopefully she'll stick with it and continue thru spring/summer months to bring a little cash to her pocket, I think she'll like that.

Steve is working today --- starting his landscaping job and hopefully soon back to work full-time with warmer days ahead. Rain kind of spoils a few days in the upcoming week but its looking good for a few job lineups.

This Saturday (22nd) is our last day to do our foot routes with our newspaper routes, yeah! that'll be about 90 less papers to deliver, and won't take as long to get done now. With Steve going back to work it'll be easier on me and with his income, we are ok with dropping a few extra dollars for this stressful paper route. I should be able to get done (weekdays) now in about 2 1/2 hrs......that'll be nice.

Well, there's lots to do today before work, so will be blogging more later this week. Have a great day!

My newest Creation

This is my newest creation for ebay selling, hopefully it'll go well, it comes by itself (name) or with mickey ears.....I offer it both ways. I'm trying to be more creative and offer a variety of words and shapes. I really like this 2 layered title word. The background is black and the top layer is white......looks very sharp in your scrapbooks! Any name available. Just thought I'd share.

the Weekend

Where do I start, basically by saying we have been doing so many papers (delivering) that I'm beat. We picked up 7 extra routes in some local areas in town to help the company out while someone quit on them, and I'm beat. We spent yesterday sleeping until 2:00pm in the afternoon cause we delivered from 3a.m.-10a.m. and delivered almost 500 papers each day this weekend, plus 3 days last week. All I can say is for the next 3 days, I am delivering our own papers and no more!!!!! Plus, I have to work by myself the next 3 days which is going to be tough on me anyways.
Hopefully the pay/money will be worth it. The day light savings time didn't help at all this Sunday either. Trying to get adjusted now to the new hours is hard the 1st 3 to 4 days of changeover.

All I can say is I am glad the weekend is over, never thought I'd hear myself saying that. Laugh.

Warmer Weather

Its been so nice out the past few days, although it was rainy all day and still is raining thru the night and overnight, its very warm out. Its been near 60 degrees for the past 2 days and I Love it. The rain could go away as its suppose to by Thursday but I cannot complain.

Driving the paper route with warmer weather gives me a chance to break this cough and cold I have and hopefully get it going .....although now Taylor is coughing -not as bad but somewhat.

Just wanted to share our nice warm weather we're having.
I know I'm enjoying it!!!!

Valentines Dinner

I took this picture during Taylor's scouting VALENTINES SPAGHETTI DINNER The other week.......the girls hosted a dinner for parents and served and entertained everyone. Need I say no more, but it was a very long serving and night, as you can see to entertain us we created this design on the table with tiny cutout hearts............the picture says it all. (It was a very nice dinner by the way)

Steve just got back from the York Flower & Garden show today -so I thought I'd add a few photos he took while there. It wasn't as big as last years he said but worth the trip --- doing his landscaping business he thought it'd be beneficial to go check out what was new and what others were offering. Cleaning

I spent this morning cleaning my dining room table off and getting more organized, another gal who blogs (that I've been reading her blog everyday for a year straight) gave me the incentive to do this, she did it too. We both scrapbook and create punchart and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who ties up their dining room table with scraps,clutter and working tools.

I'd take a photo of it, but my camera battery's are recharging.

I can at least see the top of my table now........and its already to start processing more stuff today. Which I plan to do all day/night --catch up and get things done. It makes things go so much faster when you have a clean work space........yeah for me!

Just Sick

Yes, just being sick, got sick the other day with a bad chest cough/congestion and now its all over me, in my nose/throat/chest/stuffiness, you name -I got it! So yucky!

I'm so heading to bed, goodnight and I'll be back when I'm feeling better, its been a rough 2 days this week already.

Being Sick

As I checked my blog from last year about this time I was so sick with bronchitis, well guess what? I think its back. I have the worse chest cold in history --- I can breath fine but weasing, and coughing geez! it sounds nasty. I do feel better its not in my head, although my chest hurts everytime I cough. Needless to say I'm heading to drug store this morning for some major CONGESTION MED'S........wish me luck! And working basically outside all day -since we travel in the car with windows down, won't feel too swell this week. This really stinks!

YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT 3-6" OF SNOW tomorrow possibly more. That's all I have to say today, I'm so tired, we've been on the road doing paper route since 12noon -and just got home at 8pm tonight, geez! what a day!

Its Snowing

The above picture I found from almost 2 years ago, thought it was a great picture to post of Taylor and her great-granny.

Well, its SNOWING (again) its been snowing all day long, started about 1:30 and just about done, we have a good 1" of snow, it didn't lay heavy this time but its enough to have a white coating outside. Travel today was easy --- roads weren't too bad.

I'm just tired of the cold bitter weather, snow is ok for today but that' s it now, we're done, oK? mother nature, where is spring?

Reality Shows

I just cannot believe how many reality shows are on now, everytime you turn the TV on there is a reality or game show on nowadays. I can remember back in the 80's all the sitcoms on each night of the week, your lucky if you see any of those now adays. But I must say I love 'em.......reality shows are so cooL. Can you imagine someone following you around all day long and night with a camera on your back? Not sure if I could live up to that, but sounds like it'd be fun.

What a week

Well, all I can say is what a week, seems like it was a long one.......nasty weather for 2 days, kids off school for 2 days, Valentines Day and so much done. One day in my life I would have been glad to say TGIF, but now I don't.....morning routes start at 3:00a.m. and its already 9:30 --time for bed on a Friday, that stinks.

Well, guess I'm heading there now, not much to blog about --I need to get some photos uploaded to start posting and just haven't had time, I took a few on our route this week of the snow storm, they are great but I have no way to transfer to computer, hopefully I can get a connector cord soon and download 'em............have a great weekend!

Long Weekend

its been a LOOOOOOONG Weekend. I am so burnt out and tired, with a headache might I add. We had a long night last night putting papers together and getting delivered for paper route. We started at 2:00a.m. (should I say Steve & Jeremy did) and I had to help out by 3:30 not finishing til 4:30 and getting on the road to deliver by 4:30. We did finish 20 minutes late. It was a long night.

I'm just hanging out today catching up on ebay orders, trying to get some stuff done to ship tomorrow. Sales are pouring in and very busy.

The weather is so cold out today -the wind is just howling at the windows. We had a few snow showers this morning about 6:00am. but nothing major.
I am just so ready for spring weather, temps. Even if its like 60 degrees, I'm happier than this cold windy winter weather. Just hate it.

This week we have a few things planned.......Taylor has a 4 day weekend off school coming up, Dentist appointment on Wednesday and probably a doctor app't for her too. Softball signs up are early next week, geez! thats a sign of spring right?

Cannot believe its Feb.10th already, this year is going so fast already -but the weather temps aren't. laugh.

Well, have tons to do today and trying to figure out what to do for dinnertime.

a Sore Puppy

ever hear that saying a SORE PUPPY? well, that's me today. Today I decided to do a 375 paper route myself. That's 7 routes: 3 foot routes and 4 motor routes all myself. Yikes! Well, at least I know I can do it by the deadline time of 5:01p.m. --that was my finishing time when I threw my last paper, laugh. But I tell you what, my wrists and Left elbow is so sore and hurting and I'm so tired.....I'll be heading to bed shortly here.

Come March - I'll be dropping probably the roughest foot route we have. It takes alot out of someone who isn't in shape. Its constant in and out of the car to drop papers in between doors and on porches. Its an apt complex with elderly folks and they simply want their papers in the doors and mailslots, like delivering mail......wore me out!
Good exercise I learned.

I did have a funny story to tell about todays foot route at that same complex. Here goes.........I decided to do the route backwards thru the apt. complex simply because most of the in and out of the car would be on my side if I go backwards, so I wouldn't have to cross in front of the car etc. So, of course the complex is setup ONE WAY......but our past training session (the lady who trained us) told us she goes backwards and if someone mentions going the wrong way - they know your delivering papers no big deaL. As I was almost done, some older gentleman and his wife was passing me by and he yelled out his window (quite ugly too) THIS IS A ONE WAY, YOUR GOING THE WRONG WAY! I turned around and just ignored him, but watched them pull in to their parking space and she went inside, he proceeded to head my way -with his cane in hand, not going fast, but heading my way and towards the office buiLding. I figured he was going to report me, no big deal who cares.........I got in my car and headed towards him standing along the road and he stopped waiting for me, I immediately put my window up ---and as I passed him I thought you cranky old' man, and gave him the biggest smile and waved..........guess I was being smart to him and he shot me the finger!!!!! Immediately I laughed.......gosh, he must have been at least 80 yrs old and gave me the finger!!!! Dirty old man..but a funny story.
He never made it to the office building as I looked in my rear view mirror he headed back to his aptt.............what a funny story, I think it was.

Well, heading to bed early tonight, I'm so sore.............have a good night!

Plain Yucky

Ok, my only thing to say today is about yesterdays paper route delivering, it was just plain yucky! It poured down rain the entire 3 1/2 hrs of delivering papers, we were soaken wet and it ends there.........

So Much to chat about

Well, normally I'm trying to blog everyday but the past few days I've been busy. Things are just real busy with my business (ebay orders) and I'm trying to stay caught up on shipments for a 5 business day shipping period, trust me its not easy. I've been doing so well the past few days its unreal. I'm very happy with the income coming in.

First to share, I just found out RACHAEL RAY'S show is on 2 times a day here now, I was so upset when they switched her show from 10a.m. to 2p.m. to begin with and then we started our paper route, which was right in the middle of the afternoon ---now its on at 9a.m. on a different channel than NBC but at least its on.....Now I can watch her again, I missed her the whole month of December and January not even knowing she was on at 9a.m. -- I'm so happy, just love that girl.

The weather today is really sucky, hate to use those words but it is....woke up this morning it was sleeting/raining/icey. The kids had a 2 hour delay from school and off they went. Its still ugly outside, no sun (it was so sunny yesterday it was a definite sunglass day).....and the rain is just coming down, suppose to be like this all afternoon, yuk!

Yesterday the kids were sent home early from school at 9:30a.m. --what a 2 hour day. Our schools have a middle and high school, separate buildings, and the high school with construction going on to build a new one, someone hit a gas line.........smelling gas, they dismissed both schools to be safe. Plus, Taylor said the middle school where she is located at was having power issues. What a good call. So, Taylor and I went on the paper route alone, to see if we could do it, we did alright --- finished at 5:01 -1 minute pass our deadline time to be done, laugh. It was a long afternoon but we realized we can do it and it was a day where the paper was so thick and heavy, what a nightmare.

Today is RED day, are you wearing red? I must say I'm wearing white, sorry --- I heard this morning on the TODAY SHOW to wear RED for heart disease awareness day.

We are preparing for the super bowl party this weekend, have to get my last odds/ends today, cause I'm not going to be up to doing all this stuff this weekend. The paper route really takes a toll on us, and I plan to have it all ready by tonight. The house is aLmost clean, Steve stayed home yesterday and really did clean the living area and kitchen, I was so impressed.

Well, on to this ugly dreary day -- have a good one!

I wanted to share my latest scrapbooking creation, its called a LETTER ALBUM, made from durable cardstock and spells any word, like Taylor. Each page folds back and as the letters go in the album from T to R -the pages get bigger allowing you space to journalling and/or add photos, small ones of course. I made 2 so far (Daisies & Taylor)

I plan to make more when I get more time, they are time consuming creating but once they are done, they are easy to cut and tie together with a ribbon (which is my favorite part of scrapbooking this past year, I love ribbons).....how cute!

Long Weekend

Its been a long weekend, paper route totally takes over this weekend, its just now 1:30 or so (afternoon time) and I'm crawling out of bed, yikes!

We went to see a local band play last night from 9:00pm -midnight and we should have left 2 hrs prior to that, after getting home and not to bed til almost 1a.m. --- we were delivering our toughest day on 2 hrs sleep --was tough. We don't do that often and trust me, it'll be a bit of time til we do that again. We are seriously thinking of giving this paper route up by March 1st or at least dropping a few routes.......soon Steve will be back to work, he has jobs lined up already but the weather is so bitterly cold -you cannot do a thing.

well, I have alot to do today; laundry, cleaning, and putting some orders together. Have a good week!

Nothing New

I wanted to blog everyday this year and simply I'm running out of things to blog about. Today was nothing special, still cold outside -like in the 30's -and I hate it. I'm so ready for spring, not summer but spring weather and temp's.......where is it?

Been busy with selling some items and the paper route of course keeps us busy everyday --looking for someone right now to help us out on weekends and maybe take on a job as a substitute, we did have one interest but no definite takers just yet. Would be so nice to have 1 day off over the weekend come spring/summer months ---so we don't have to get up at 3:00am. every weekend all summer long.

Well, its late, ready for bed.....have a good week!

Up Early

I have tons to do this morning before we head out in the dreaded COLD FREEZING 20 degree weather they are calling for. Plus don't forget the snow fall this afternoon but not much maybe 1" if that, light dusty they say.

I cannot believe I'm out of bed and its already 9:00a.m. -meaning up, dressed and shoes on ready to head to the stores after getting to bed at 1:00a.m. in the morning -yikes! I was up late watching JOHN & KATE + 8.......I just love that show and knowing they live not too far from us here in PA, makes it exciting to watch. New episodes are now starting and I was up at midnight watching last week's show.......I'm always a week behind watching their show cause its on Mondays at 8:00pm. and I'm never watching it then. Its exciting to watch how someone raises 8 children and both being multiples , set of 6 and a set of twins, yikes! GOD BLESS THEM.

WELL its time to venture out......burrrrhhhh! Where is spring????????????????

Its Cold outside

I heard tonight and tomorrow is to bring only the high 20's in temps. burrrh! Long john material for paper route this morning, just sitting here dreading it. Well, its 9:30p.m. and I only have 5 1/2 hrs til we get up --- beddy time for me, good night! and stay warm!!!

More Snow than expected

Ok, we got more snow than I thought but alot of it melted today. Yesterdays paper route was horrifying, the snow was just coming down in flakes, laying on the roads and people just freaked, cars stuck everywhere. We saw a mini-van down in a ditch on Camp Betty Washington Rd. on our last leg of the route, cars stuck on hills on major roads, thank goodness we made it --- took us about 1 hour longer than usual, and that was just simply because we couldn't drive our normal speed....all else was fine. Oh, I did almost take a mailbox out, but lucky I missed it and instead of them getting their paper in their mailbox tube, we tossed it in the driveway cause I skidded right past, geez! that was a heart stopper moment.

Snow

Well, they are calling for snow/sleet today, only about a dusting but do we actually believe that? I'm still expecting more, its suppose to start now in fact, 10:00a.m. -but I see nothing (yet). Probably will start upon our adventure out to deliver papers, joy! for us.

New Adventure in Scrapbooking

This is my latest adventure, creating title words for your scrapbooks, and offering them on ebay and my website, I've been very busy the past 3 days creating as many designs as I can, if you want a design let me know, I can make any word with shape attached. They are very reasonable each and are selling quite well for me. I can cut them in most colors or black as shown above and again, any words you want. $1.00Customization is great on this end. I am enjoying this time to create and offer this hard to find title words. They make a great accent to your scrapbook!!!

Tax Time

Well, I filed my taxes already -its nice to not have to wait on tax forms to arrive and you can simply file your business taxes, and get it rolling. Of course, the wonderful EARNED INCOME CREDIT TAX helps me alot being a single mom and I usually get alot back from the gov't, although this year I had to pay in taxes, and had nothing to back me up, I still came out good in the end but TURBOTAX.COM is a wonderful site. I normally don't file my state and local taxes til April, those are my downfall. Happy filing!

Extremely Warm

It has been extremely WARM here in the northeast the past 2 days, its like spring..........we hit record high temp's yesterday -they said 74 degrees, I believe it....and today the same. It was so nice and almost spoiling us. Tomorrow rain moves in with it still in the high 50's they say and springlike, but the cold weather is on the rebound for next week, yuck! I just love this weather, specially doing a paper route and being able to wear short sleeves and the windows down all during the route......normally I'm up and down and up and down with the windows all day long. Today was just BEAUTIFUL!!!!

the Navy Scrapbook

I've been trying to blog for a few days with photos and it wouldn't let me know, so hopefully today I will have more luck.

This was the only photo I took at our christmas get together this past holiday, photos are becoming far and very few now adays, nobody wants a photo taken. :-( I got my dad this scrapbook for christmas -NAVY SCRAPBOOK of his reunion and past years.......he loved it, so glad. I had fun putting/creating this scrapbook for him.

Happy New Year 2008!!!!

Just wanting to wish everyone a happy new year 2008, and hope your new year starts off with a bang!!!!

My day consisted of not getting to bed til about 12:30 due to the fireworks that were in city York, not even near us, but I could still hear them at midnight for about 20 mins.......woke me up and I couldn't fall to sleep til about 12:30 or so.....than getting up at 3:15 a.m. to deliver papers, the route went well, came home about 7:00a.m. and went directly to bed, not getting up til 12noon. Normally on a morning route I'm up by 11:00a.m. but guess my 3 hour sleep last night took a toll on me hard. Been trying to clean now, get dishes done, my kitchen is horrendous (spelling?), meaning needing cleaned big time, the holidays just made me lazy after christmas day, and I haven't cleaned much........my kitchen floor needs a good ammonia mop and hand washing, meaning down on the knees touch scrubbing. Anyways, we are not eating our pork/sauerkraut til later tonight, just got back from Wal-Mart shopping for some goodies. Got a pumpkin pie and whip cream, yum! Steve will be happy to see that. We missed it at Thanksgiving so I got it for him now. Always just got back from Fashion Bug, bought 2 tops with a gift card, the selection was crappy --nothing much left or nothing I liked, I wanted to buy some pants but I wasn't paying 25.00 a pair for athletic pants, which they had a pair I loved, but I just think that's silly, jeans yes! but athletic pants no. So, I got 2 tops ---one of them I plan to wear to watch the REDSKINS 1ST PLAYOFF game this Saturday night........its Redskins color, but its a color I like, I have 2 other tops in this color too.

Well, I'm going to relax a bit and get some stuff ready to get our New Years Day meaL started and get Steve on the roll here for some cooking.

New Years Eve

Today is New Years Eve, and it doesn't seem like its the eve for New Years, probably because we know tonight we'll be heading to bed before the new year and its the 1st year not to celebrate the NEW YEAR, cause of the paper route. Which is really unfair but life.

Hope everyone has a great new years eve, and a great new 2008. Be thankful for another year to celebrate and live and be happy!!!!!

the Wall of Cards

We use to do this every year at Christmas, hang our cards on the archway and we stopped doing it last year, but Steve's bright idea this year was to do it again since we probably got over 50 some cards if not more........due to our paper route this year, we got numerous cards than usual. This picture was taken with Taylors new digital camera but I don't think the flash was on.........but I call this THE WALL OF CARDS.

Christmas Tree

I put my christmas balls on my tree tonight and took a picture but I deleted it by accident, so sad. I'll take another photo shortly --it really looks pLain with just christmas balls and lights but at least its up --- Santa can find it now.

Been so Busy

Been so busy this week, trying to get last minute orders shipped and pumpkin rolls made -although I'm just starting those........and haven't even started shopping, actually yes I have. I bought a few things so far......I know exactly what I want, just gotta get there and get 'em.

the Paper route is keeping us busy everyday, I feel like i have no time to do anything anymore cause its right in the afternoon ---I'm use to being home all day and getting things done, now it has to be done in the mornings before we leave at noon and/or in the evenings. Its like rush rush rush!

Taylor's been home sick from school now a day and a half......she's been running a fever and has a nasty cold, like we all do trying to fight it. Been 2 weeks now. This nasty weather stinks. Its been either raining, snowing or sleeting the past 2 weeks straight. We finally got some sun now but its so bitter cold its unreal. And winter has even started.

Christmas is next week and usually I'm so excited but being so busy trying to get ready --- I'm not quite sure when I'll get in the xmas spirit.

We haven't even decorated the tree yet. We have lights on it, but nothing else, laughing. Hopefully tomorrow or Thurs we can do that.

Making Treats

I was trying to make treats tonight called PRETZEL TREATS, and they are the simplest thing to make and you think I could do them right? they are either melting too fast (the wafers) and/or they didn't melt enough and wouldn't stick with the m&m's....geez! now i have to go buy more ingredients tomorrow morning cause I sold 5 containers to a lady in town and she wants to pick them up tomorrow evening........this is just not my night, what a horrible experience and now I'm stressed, yikes!

Oh Christmas tree.....

Oh Christmas Tree.......yes, we went and picked out our christmas tree tonight. Its not inside yet as its debranching, guess that's a word, spell check says no. Anyways spell check says christmas is spelled wrong too. Once I take some pics and the decorations are on it, I'll post it, we figured we would get a tree tonight before the SNOW/SLEET/RAIN HITS us again........yuck! We show 2 storms coming our way this week and I don't look forward to that at all.

Being sick......

Well, we all have head colds here in our house, guess that nasty bug got us all. First I thought Taylor gave it to us, but she wasn't home this weekend when I got it --Steve had it for a few days before me, and now Taylor comes home from her g'mas with it too. Guess just got it all. Its nasty cause doing a paper route with your windows down all day long is horrible when you can't breath, and fighting a cold. Needless to say, I stocked up on med's tonight for all 3 of us and hopefully we'll beat this thing before the weekend. What a waste of money on tissues, pills and cough drops. Oh, well heading to bed now to get some rest.

Rain Rain Go away

Gosh, it is so ugly out today, rain rain! First we had snow, then sleet, and today is rain --this past week has been so yucky and icky --just don't want to go outside. And coLd, won't even discuss that part. At least today was a day inside to get some Christmas decorations out.

Snow

It snowed this week, they said 5" --but some of it must have melted alot cause I would say we havea bout 3" if that now......and its so so cold. Sorry I missed blogging yesterday, it got very busy yesterday and as the holidays approach -- there's much to be done. I will blog later. have a great day and stay WARM!

Its going to SNOW........

Yes, you heard me right, its going to SNOW today --they are calling for 1-2" of light dusting but just enough to disturb our paper route, yikes! our 1st delivery in SNOW. Well, actually not -it did snow yesterday during our route, but nothing to lay on the roads, today I assume its going to lay on the roads........wish me luck driving!

BUSY, BUSY

Its been busy busy here, no time for anything anymore, delivering papers is keeping our new job life busy --hope to blog soon again, but we're still here. We're getting better at the route and learning it more each day --be back soon with more news!!!

First day on the Job

Well, today is our 1st day doing our paper route on our own, wish me luck. A little nervous -mostly cause its raining out and roads are wet, may take us longer cause you can't travel as fast. What a yucky day to start, but guess we gotta get use to it sooner or later. And I even heard the word MIXED BAG of weather for later this week, yikes!

HaiL to the Redskins!

Today we play COWBOYS ---what a game!!!! There is nothing more exciting than watching the COWBOYS PLAY THE REDSKINS --- our yearly rival. The fan club has plans for a big TAILGATE PARTY STARTING AT 1:00 and the game starts at 4:00--although we thought the game started at 1:00 --plans have changed now. There should be plenty of food, and prizes today, as we are soon heading there for the day, don't think I'll be sitting thru this whole thing, 3 hours of tailgating and 3 hours of the game, so I'll be hope before it all ends I'm sure.

KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE

What is KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE? a very big award at Taylor's middle school that only 1 kid per month per grade gets an award for, a big accomplishment. Taylor came home the other day announcing this award, she was so happy and I couldn't believe it, thinking of all those students in her school and once a month? she got it, CONGRATS TAYLOR! GOOD JOB!

SNOW SHOWERS

Yes, you heard me, snow showers today --a little bit of flurries were in the air today in PA, and a little bit of rain......its very frigid in the air and the flowers are dieing. 2 days ago we woke to see our impatients out back completely wilted and dead......... :-( very sad week. CooL weather is setting in and winter is on its way! burrrh!
